Dr. George Thompson, the founder of Verbal Judo, died on June 7. According to PoliceOne, he had recently received medical treatment, and his passing was unexpected. He was 69 years old.
I never had the chance to train directly with Thompson, but learned Verbal Judo from instructors he taught, and from the book and videos he produced. Thompson’s work made an impact on how I policed, and made me a better officer.
I was skeptical of his techniques when I first learned them, but figured I would give them a fair chance. Once I started using them, I never turned back.
Godspeed, Dr. Thompson. You made a positive impact on the world while you were here, and I thank you for it.

While searching for my old English teacher from Princeton High School I ran across this. I am sad to say my search to find him came to late, much to late. Now, there is no way to thank him for what he taught me 50 years ago.
