Crossbreed Holsters has announced two new additions to their line of holsters. The new options provide great options for two new pistols that are already showing enormous promise for popularity – the Glock 42, single stack .380 with LaserLyte laser, and the Beretta Pico in .380.
Crossbreed strives to have holsters available for new pistols and accessories as soon as the new products are released. To accommodate these newer pistols, CrossBreed has a full line of offerings for both pistols and their accessories.
Those options include holsters from these CrossBreed lines:
- MiniTuck
- Appendix Carry
- Ohai
- Bedside Backup
- Purse Defender
- Modular Holsters with RAM mounting
CrossBreed Holsters has made a strong move into the holster market in the few short years since starting in 2005. With some of the most comfort fitting holsters and unique designs on the market, they have quickly made a loyal fan base, with a high level of satisfaction.
I first was introduced to Crossbreed holsters at the 2012 NRA Annual Meetings in St. Louis. From the first time I saw and handled their products, I was a believer in what Crossbreed Holsters was offering. The feel of the soft leather on the body side of their IWB holster was amazing, like a soft suede. Along with the sturdy Kydex form-fitting holster, metal belt clips, and the ability to adjust ride height and cant, these holsters offer a wealth of quality.
[Note: Since I originally wrote this article, I have purchased a SuperTuck holster from CrossBreed. It is an amazing carry rig. Check out my SuperTuck review here.]
Off-Duty, Back-Up, and Civilian CCW
At BlueSheepDog we strongly advocate and encourage officers to carry a firearm off-duty, and have a back-up while on duty. The work of the sheepdog does not end at the end of your shift. This belief extends to the conscientious and prepared citizens who have trained with their firearm and have their CCW (if required).
The two most likely concerns and reasons that officers do not carry off-duty is the difficulty in carrying the added weight, and keeping their firearm concealed. Depending on your agency policy or State law, officers may be very restricted about what they can carry off-duty (e.g. duty pistol only). In those circumstances extra care must be taken to properly wear your firearm.
However, if you have the ability to carry a more easily concealed firearm, like the Glock 42 or Beretta Pico, the argument to not carry really loses any weight. Be prepared to defend yourself, your family, or perhaps the community if the need arises. That’s what a sheepdog does, and we challenge you to do the same.
