Sellier & Bellot (S&B) may not be as well-known in the United States for ammunition as home-grown Federal, Remington, or Winchester, but they are much more well-known and respected in Europe where they are headquartered in the Czech Republic. In fact, Sellier & Bellot has been manufacturing small arms ammunition since 1825, and has even been contract providers for several militaries in Europe.
Sellier & Bellot makes a wide range of ammunition in both pistol and rifle calibers. With their recent purchase by Brazilian ammunition manufacturer CBC, selling under the Magtech label, it would seem that S&B will be able to continue its manufacturing well into the 21st century.
This year Sellier & Bellot was showing off their bonded pistol rounds at SHOT Show. The bonded rounds incorporate the latest technology in ammunition that provide superior results. The S&B bonded ammunition use proprietary jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullets that have been independently tested to exceed the complete FBI Protocol Testing. for expansion, weight retention and penetration.
S&B bonded ammunition uses re-loadable brass casings for reliable feeding and corrosion resistance. Primers are non-corrosive Magtech or S&B make that are staked to ensure reliable function and durability. The powder is clean burning for less fouling and have been specifically matched to each caliber offering to optimize velocity and produce consistent chamber pressures and accuracy.

My Department has occasionally used S&B training ammunition, especially when the ammo crunch hit a few years back and you had to shoot whatever you could get your hands on. We had a good experience with the S&B training ammo, and I know that Sellier & Bellot can be found in several big box stores like Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops.
