Mesa Tactical has made a name for themselves by producing high quality accessories for several of the most popular shotguns on the market. Started in 2003 in Costa Mesa, California, Mesa Tactical has provided intuitive advancements for one of the most prolific law enforcement firearms, the shotgun.
The Mesa Tactical SureShell carrier is milled from 6061-T6 aircraft aluminum to provide outstanding durability. The SureShell carrier is then bead blasted with Mil-spec hard anodized coating to provide a professional non-glare finish. The SureShell carriers are secured with “application-specific brackets”, with some SureShell carriers including high temperature adhesive-backed die-cut rubber gaskets to protect the shotgun’s original finish.
Mesa Tactical SureShell Carrier
The Mesa Tactical SureShell Carrier provides either (4), (6), or (8) extra shotgun shells in an easily accessible side carrier. In addition, the SureShell Carrier has an integrated Picatinny rail that rests above the barrel and provides the shooter with a range of optic solutions. For any officer using a shotgun the Mesa Tactical SureShell Carrier can be very beneficial, and the addition can be particularly helpful during tactical team operations.
From Mesa Tactical:
Mesa Tactical offers two methods for mounting SureShell shotshell carriers to Remington 870, Remington 1100 and Remington 11-87 shotguns. Our traditional side mount SureShell carriers attach via flat aluminum brackets to the sides of the shotgun receiver. We also offer unique saddle rail SureShell carriers that combine a shell carrier with a MIL-STD-1913 (NATO STANAG 4694) Picatinny rail that accepts optical sights.
REMINGTON
Mesa Tactical Saddle Rails are aluminum brackets that wrap around the top of the shotgun receiver, with a Picatinny optics rail at the top. The factory trigger pins are replaced by an internally threaded steel pin (in the rear) and paired Chicago screws (up front), to which both sides of the saddle rail are securely bolted. SureShell Saddle Rails feature a MIL-STD-1913 (NATO STANAG 4694) Picatinny sight rail along the top, and a four, six, or eight-shot SureShell shotshell carrier yoke on the left side of the receiver. The rail is notched at the rear to accommodate Scattergun/Wilson style ghost ring sights, and extends to the front of the shotgun receiver (5-inch rail), 2¾ inches past the front of the receiver (8½ inch rail), or just beyond the barrel’s magazine lug (20-inch rail). The 20-inch rails are anchored at the front by a clamp. They are available with a barrel clamp or a magazine clamp, or no clamp at all (for customers who already have clamps). No gunsmithing is required to install the SureShell Saddle Rail, except for optional fore-end alterations as described above under side mount carriers. Saddle Rails are also available without the shell carriers.
MOSSBERG
These SureShell shotshell carriers for the Mossberg 500 and 590 feature mounting brackets with integral top Picatinny sight rails. The brackets are secured to the weapon using the top mounting screw holes found on Mossberg 500 and 590 shotguns made since 1997. The SureShell shotshell carriers are thus slung on the left side of the receiver, securely fastened at the top. No other shell carrier mounting method is as secure or looks as good.
The 20-inch rails are anchored at the front by a magazine clamp that features either a short length of Picatinny accessory rail at the bottom, or a sling swivel stud.
BENELLI
While the Benelli M2 Tactical semi-automatic and Benelli SuperNova® pump-action shotgun feature factory-tapped rail mounting holes in the top of the receiver, the Benelli M4 and M1014 are shipped with a top Picatinny sight rail. These provided us with an opportunity to develop SureShell shotshell carrier mounting solutions for Benelli shotguns that are streamlined and very robust.
Receiver mount SureShell shotshell carriers for the Benelli M2, M4 and M1014 feature mounting brackets with integral top Picatinny sight rails. These brackets are secured to the weapon using the top mounting screw holes. The SureShell shotshell carriers are thus slung on the left side of the receiver, securely fastened at the top. No other shell carrier mounting method is as secure or looks as good. SureShell shotshell carriers for the Benelli M2 Tactical can be installed on Benelli M1 shotguns with round-top receivers by tapping the top of the shotgun receiver with #8-40 threads.
